Executive Director

Shannah Jarc brings over three decades of distinguished leadership in Sales and Marketing within the hospitality and resort management industry to her current role as Executive Director of Vertical Sports Maui. Throughout a career spent elevating guest experiences and driving growth for world-class destinations, Shannah cultivated a deep passion for service, community engagement, and creating meaningful connections.

Today, that same expertise in building relationships and inspiring teams fuels her mission-driven leadership at Vertical Sports Maui. With a proven record of turning vision into reality, she helps to  guide the organization in expanding its impact, strengthening partnerships, and championing initiatives that uplift youth within the local community.

Whether welcoming guests to a resort or rallying supporters for a cause, Shannah embodies the belief that hospitality is more than an industry—it’s a way of life rooted in generosity, empathy, and purpose. Her journey from hospitality executive to nonprofit leader reflects a commitment to using professional success as a platform for service, ensuring that every endeavor leaves a lasting legacy of care and connection.

Shannah, a native Texan who has called Maui ‘home’ for the past 14 years, wed Kevin Jarc, an Audio Engineer, March 2025 and together they live in North Kihei with their cat (Makai), dog (Kimo), and Shannah’s mother (Cheryl).  Shannah is an avid Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe paddler, racing with Kihei Canoe Club. The couple enjoy serving in various capacities at their local church (Hope Chapel), exploring the globe each having visited over 35 countries, and spending time laughing and living life with friends and family.

Director of Coaching Development and Athletics

Tim Kuykendall brings over 30 years of experience as a teacher, coach, athletic director, and sports minister, with a lifelong passion for developing athletes and leaders through sport.

He is the co-founder of Reality Sports Ministry in the Puget Sound region of Washington State and served for 15 years as Chaplain of the Tacoma Rainiers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.

Tim began his coaching career at his alma mater, Washington State University, where he played baseball under legendary coach Bobo Brayton. As an athlete, he was an All-PAC-10 outfielder and the 1989 PAC-10 North MVP.

Following his collegiate career, Tim coached at the high school level in baseball, football, and tennis, finishing his high school baseball coaching career in 2022. Over the years, he coached numerous athletes who went on to compete at the college and professional levels. In recognition of his impact on the game, Tim was inducted into the Washington State Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in June 2023.

Tim is the author of Competing Biblically, a book and coaching philosophy that challenges athletes and coaches to compete according to God’s Word, by God’s power, and for God’s glory. He has also developed faith-based sports curriculum used by schools, churches, and organizations, intentionally integrating biblical truth, leadership development, and athletic excellence.

Tim currently serves as the Director of Coaching Development with Vertical Sports Maui in Kihei, Hawaii, where he equips coaches to lead with purpose, integrity, and a Christ-centered foundation. He also leads Father-Son and Father-Daughter camps, rooted in Psalm 78, with a focus on passing down the truth of God’s Word to the next generation through sport.

Tim has been married to his wife Heather for 35 years. They have three grown children, one granddaughter, and two Golden Retrievers.
